FAQ

Q: What is RWBY Evermorrow?RWBY Evermorrow is an AU (Alternate Universe) fan project based around the Rooster Teeth Series "RWBY".In this alternate timeline, the Fall of Beacon did not occur, meaning Team RWBY and their friends are able to continue their education at Beacon Academy. From a meta narrative perspective, any concepts or characters introduced from Volume 3 onwards, even if they are introduced as elements in the past (such as backstories or flashbacks) are free game to be 'remixed' so they better suit the story the AU aims to tell. For example, while Oscar is a 14-year-old farmhand who becomes Ozma's next host in RWBY, he is a 17-year-old Beacon initiate and former Signal Academy classmate of Ruby Rose in Evermorrow.Evermorrow is also a sort of ‘organisation’ project for myself. As someone who loves designing new outfits for characters and coming up with semblances and weapons for characters that don’t have them, I now have a home for all those ideas.

Q: Changes? Is this a rewrite? Some characters will be changed to streamline the AU or explore interesting ideas. This is not only a world where Beacon survives, but one where Salem either doesn’t exist, or at least doesn’t in the same way we are used to. This leads to a cascading effect on other characters such as WTCH. More villains will be independent bad actors with their own axes to grind, becoming “arc villains” with their own individual focus. As a result, backstories may change in certain ways, as well as the execution of their arcs.Multiple characters may also be condensed down into one to explore new ideas or better fit the concept of the AU. I want to stress that this is not a rewrite or a declaration that I am a better writer than CRWBY. I simply want to explore another angle the world could have taken.

Q: What form will Evermorrow take?
Initially only planned to be a series of character designs, bios and dioramas, Evermorrow now takes the form of a fully fledged, fully voice-acted animatic series with some fully animated 3d scenes.

Q: Why do characters look different? As an AU I wanted to differentiate my takes from canon so that they could be easily identified. In-Universe, the characters that remain predominantly identical to their Canon counterparts (such as RWBY and JNPR) simply changed up their outfits following a brief timeskip post-Vytal Tournament.Other characters look slightly different as they are condensed down from multiple characters into one, they had not yet appeared in canon at the time they were introduced in Evermorrow, or I simply thought it’d be fun to give them a new design or new take on the character! For the most part, anyone not introduced by the end of Volume 2 is fair game for a little switcharoo, and some even before that.Above all, Evermorrow is a labour of love, and it’s all just for fun!

Q: Is [Insert Character] going to be in Evermorrow?Short answer? Probably. In remixing characters for this project I'm pulling from every available piece of official media - from Ruby Rose all the way in the main show to Pink from the now-defunct Bilibili mobile game available only in China.Characters introduced in volume 4+ may be slightly or drastically altered to suit Evermorrow's story, but they'll probably show up.

Q: Will you include [Insert Ship]?Ships, even canon ones, are the absolute lowest priority for me. I have little investment in them in the main show, and don't want to include too many in the AU.Romances will happen, but like Arkos (which is already a thing in the AU) they'll likely be relationships that didn't see their full potential or have/had no chance to blossom in the main show.

Q: How dark will the AU be?The over all mission for the AU is to be fun and light hearted, but you can't have the good without the bad. If we get that far, there will be some dark moments but I want to stick to a generally upbeat and positive tone. We're not looking at bombing civilians or blowing up schools here, but characters can still get hurt.

Q: Will Maidens exist? Is Ozpin a reincarnation of Ozma? The only magic I really intend on handling is the Grimm, and potentially Silver Eyes.Relics/Maidens etc are more tailor made for the show's plotline and I can't think of a reason they'd be necessary for EM's.For Ozpin, I haven't really planned on confronting whether or not he's a reincarnation. Right now I see no reason for him to be without the Salem plot, but things change.

Q: If EM steers from canon at the end of volume 2, did the Raven post-credits scene happen?I genuinely haven't decided. It's something that needs to be discussed if/when we tackle Raven as a character.

Q: What is the long term goal of Evermorrow? Will you tell the entire story?I just want to have fun and test how much I can stretch my skills on a project.I'm not sure if I'll be able to tell the whole story. Right now I'm taking an arc-by-arc approach so I don't have the next five years dedicated to it. Currently I'm only committed to making up to Episode 6.

Q: Can I make fan content?Absolutely! We already have several pieces of fan art (which I plan to show in the credits), and seeing people enjoy the project enough to generate their own content makes it worthwhile.

Q Will you only use characters from the show or can we expect some OCs?My previous RWBY project, Team RAIN, was 99.9% OCs. For Evermorrow I want to challenge myself and pull from every available facet of official RWBY media for the sake of "authenticity" and to make it so under-served characters from obscure places get their time to shine.
